Welcome to Montrose Park, the first public park established in Georgetown. Created by Congress in 1911, Montrose Park is named after the Montrose Estate that had occupied this area during the 19th century. Managed by the National Park Service since 1933, this 15.5 acre park is part of the Rock Creek Park Administrative Unit. This self-guided tour will introduce you to life on the land before the park was formed, tell you how the park came to be, and share interesting details about the park itself. Enjoy your visit.
